Yesterday I shared this fun Valentine DIY over on Tori Spelling's site, ediTORIal. Here's the full tutorial in case you missed it!
Love Bugs are a quick and easy craft to make with the kids for Valentine's Day! There is no right or wrong way to make them- just pull out your craft supplies and get creative with stickers, pipe cleaners, hearts, googly eyes, feathers, or any other materials you might have on hand.
1. Make yarn pom-poms. I love the 1-3.8 inch Clover Pom-Pom Maker. You can also make pom-poms using forks or cardboard (as seen on Tori's tulle ball tutorial). Trim off any long pieces of yarn with scissors.
2. Use tacky glue to attach googly eyes, pipe cleaner antennas, tails, feathers, noses, etc...
3. Add feet by gluing mini pom-poms or a foam heart sticker to the bottom of the yarn pom-pom.
4. Attach your own love note and give to someone special! Think of all the fun ways to give them away- stick a love bug to a card or gift, place inside a box filled with chocolate kisses, or slip one in a lunch box as a Valentine's Day surprise!
Special thanks to my friend Kristy of The Purple Pug for the crafty inspiration and pom-pom advice. She throws the best Monster Love Raves ever.
Another special thanks to Jenny Cherif and all the other fabulous Birthday Express in-house designers for creating the love bug labels and love flags!
